ce of processing, and excellent depth to the soup, which is shining dark amber. Just enough underlying phenolic structure - oh so comfortable and providing a touch of firmness to the tea that emphasises its persistence that cools the palate. There’s a retuning sweetness and a developing texture along with a savoury autumnal leaf note and another savoury note that’s hard to put a finger on (but very alluring!). This is a tea that goes on and on, with qi that calms the senses. The interaction of tastes, structural elements and aromas are absolutely coherent. It might be semi-aged but the storage has darkened the leaves and it’s a delight already.

tness too. It’s quite unlike shou I’ve (inadvertently!) had in the past with the exception of how the wet leaves look in the pot - very dark, ‘dry’ and don’t hydrate as sheng leaves do. Otherwise you wouldn’t know it wasn’t old sheng! In fact the tea pours crystal clear, mid to dark amber. You can brew it hard and it doesn’t muddy, with better than expected durability.

and camphor. Interesting texture. Some dryness is present, but makes a nice grip; pleasant mouthfeel. After a few infusions, there is a warming Qi that comes in waves. Clear aromas. Clean taste. Pleasant experience.

It seems to me, with this kind of balanced aging, right around that 8-12 years of age the tea can reach some sort of a peak, when the tea still fully retains the kind of signature why you have acquired it on the first place, after that, the tea is starting to becoma something else. Nontheless, this is just perfect as it is, a true representation of natural, foresty kind of yiwu.

Smells good, tastes good and feels good! Indeed this a pungent tea, and it is still young, but I like it as it is. There is complexity and the tea keeps evolving, in the cup and with the huigan. Nice relaxing qi.
