Deep, dark, punchy, strong Qi, was stored natural but now kept quite dry for a few years so drink quite clean… this type of tea in a factory cake normally is well over $500 (these days, often $1000+). We haven’t offered many 90s factory cakes lately, because we think the value is not quite there. However this tea easily performs better than a tea 2-3x the price.
Directly from He Zhong Tai storage (a master of old Puerh), these naked special order 7542 pack and a punch and don’t disappoint in any way for an old sheng cake, especially one at this price point: it has very nice comforting Qi, it’s suitably dark, it’s noticeably strong like a sheng, what’s not to love? The fact that I only have a few and the price has increased if I buy more…

5 stars because it’s a bargain. It’s perfectly clean — I even tried it in a gaiwan, no defects to speak of. (Obviously it tastes even better when brewed in a proper YiXing teapot.) While not of an extraordinary material, it is well balanced and has the irreplaceable charm of old tea. Yes, if indeed it’s from the late 90s, you’d easily think it’s 5-10 years older. Anyway: great ! Don’t hesitate to push it a bit.

This tea is a hug from my grandmother. Not a fierce grasp, but a quiet strength that holds you steady. There is gentleness in its touch,soft and sweet, yet grounded in very deep qi.
Its scent carries the memory of autumn woods: the clean breath of the forest floor,leaves giving themselves back to the earth,
a whisper of rain and renewal.
Shines for me when brewed at 6g in a 100ml Duanni pot.
