It’s a shame there’s so much great teas around here lately, this one is only excellent (and in perfect condition). I would recommend to give it a bit of a strong brew, although I’m not a huge fan of over-steeping: it has strength and in its strength resides, I think, part of its interest. Also, very patient. I have a mind to let it sit a few more years maybe, to see how these sober qualities evolve. Very friendly price.

7542 is always something good, but this HK Henry’s version could be a little bit more aged. There is some bitterness in the beginning and the color of the wet leaves has still some greenness.

Very satisfying. Looks almost like a shu cha because of the advanced aging (malaysian storage), but there’s absolutely no question it is a strong sheng Pu Er fit to age further. Somewhat smoky at first, with hints of tobacco and (in later infusions) of cooked or dried mirabelle plum, it reminds me a bit of some (very clean) special order xiaguan/baoyan cakes of approximately the same year(s). I think I’ll let it age slowly and come back to it at regular intervals.

Bright mouthwatering attack from the first brew, followed by a satisfying point of intensity and a taste of licorice root. Mild aromas of barley water and white flower florals. There’s a soft textural feel to this tea that coats the mouth and provides volume, and to my mind is the tea’s strong point. Very comfortable.
