Highlights:
- The very first BaoYan Jinchas
- Clean, thick, rich Shou Puerh
- Refined old shou taste (no ‘wo dui’/piling aroma)
- Strong calming Qi
Old shou just tastes better, fusing the best of a thick rich dark brew with the cleanliness that comes from proper dry aging (this tea was stored from Mr Chen’s dry storage in Taiwan). Great price for this very collectible and rare tea, too.
The very first Xiaguan BaoYan JinCha Shou is from 1986 on, this tea here is the genuine first batch (mid-late 80s), can be seen by a special character on the neifei. Only a few pieces available.
The tea is tightly compressed. Sample cost is a bit higher than usual because it takes quite some time to break up.
250grams nominal weight, ~220-230g actual weight.

Exactly what you’d expect : not the longest patience, but extremely clean, typical of that era’s shu Pu Erhs, only better. Hard to give 5 stars when you’re reviewing CYH’s Manzhuan pure gushu at the same time, so I’ll stick to 4, but this is quite a good find at quite a good price.
