Sharing excellence

Tongables

The value of certain teas will rise dramatically because they improve with aging and they become more scarce as time goes on and the market recognises their quality.

Our goal is finding out which teas will improve most and also which teas we won’t be able to buy in the future (because their price will rise too much) so that:

  1. In the future we can drink teas that would cost us much more to buy already aged (if they’re even available at all)
  2. We can even re-sell them at many times their purchase price (generally for larger quantities, 1 tong or more)

Buying strategy in a nutshell:

  • Genuine pure ancient tree (and particularly Benchmark ancient tree standard) improves over time, holds value over downturns and we have teas of a quality that was never made before in history
  • Very old tea or factory cakes with better-than-plantation leaves or special terroirs (like Banzhang) are scarce and will also improve with time
  • Authenticity focus: being able to recognise what is genuine ancient tree tea and genuine old tea is key, luckily we’ve shared how to do it in detail so you don’t need to trust anyone else but your mouth and ability
  • Other tips for quality that will withstand aging well: Traditionally processed puerh (not pulong), real ancient tree leaves, clean storage, quality and not just famous terroirs, no relying on famous brands or big factories (see video below for full list)

Which teas to age and how to store them

Tongables

Recommended teas for most improvement over the years and price increase. Tongs generally ship within 3-4 weeks.

All tongs can be stored in our Taiwanese warehouse free of charge for up to 3 years (longer periods likely available too, for a small fee). You can redeem them immediately or anytime after you’re confident with your home storage.

Worth storing

While full tongs are not available anymore, a single or few pieces of these teas are definitely worth having (also will greatly improve over the years and/or become impossible or very expensive to buy later)

Consultation

For a very limited time, I’m offering consultations on storage, collection and buying strategy:

  • A free 30 minutes call to review or kickstart your long term Puerh collection
  • with your first purchase of a tong worth at least £2000/$2600 (including if already purchased before now), you can have a longer call (up to 1h30minutes) where besides collection we can also talk on any other puerh topic too (gongfu brewing, identifying ancient tree and old tea, terroirs, etc… see 1-on-1 classes for topics)

Call date to be agreed via email later – good availability in February and March 2026.
