  • Original hongni ore, aged for even better quality
  • Half handmade, thin walled
  • This clay has excellent drinking performance: makes the tea smoother (rounder, sweeter, slightly thicker) without losing much complexity
  • The clay has been tested to ensure it has no chemical additives
  • In terms of puerh, this is particularly suitable for “first aging” (from a few years of age to about 15 years) up to “semi-aged” (15-20 years dry storage)
  • Will also happily brew oolong and other teas (particularly suitable for light to medium oxidised oolongs)

After many years of searching, trying countless clays and potters we are finally ready to release a teapot that has all three:

  1. free from chemical additives
  2. excellent drinking performance
  3. great price/quality ratio (thanks to it being half handmade)

We mostly wish to make these teapots available for their excellent clay and therefore drinking performance. This type of clay is perfect for both 5-15year old puerh and for even older dry stored masterpieces (like for example 2002 CYH Yiwu pure gushu).
