Drink and learn to identify with certainty and appreciate the teas that never see the light outside of exclusive collector circles, in 3 different learning tracks.
Elite track: simply the very best terroirs of Puerh, impossible to find the genuine benchmark (highest standard) version of.
Yiwu track: Sweet – thick – bright.Β From the surprising strength (taste and Qi) of TianMenShan to the incredibly deep Qi and rich silky softness of Wangong. These teas make it crystal clear why Yiwu is truly the heart of Puerh, from being what most legendary Antique era (1900s-1950s) teas are made of to being the most beloved today.
Single and King tree track: Refined purity of very ancient trees (Single tree and especially King Tree are the oldest 1-2% in a garden), one from Menghai with a good amount of sweetness and two from terroirs we will select based on quality in Lincang. So far we’ve only released one King Tree tea in our history (and it can’t be purchased anywhere else that I know of either, it gets snapped up by collector enthusiasts way early in the season). Beginners that wishes to buy this track are recommended to also buy one (ideally both) of the other two for a fuller understanding of what makes this type of very ancient tree so special. We’re thinking of MengSa and a high elevation garden near BingDao for the two Lincang trees but it will depend on harvest quality.
Any purchase comes with a set of 3x Gaiwan+Cup tasting kits (see pictures).
When you buy at least 2 tracks you get an online 1-on-1 class with me to truly learn how to tell what’s 100% pure ancient tree Puerh, 1st spring pick, standard varietal, how to fully appreciate the terroir or tea type relative to your track.
If you buy a third track, in addition to the class you also get one The teapot and Ming dynasty Cup (!).
A bit about what you will learn in the class:
Teas will be shipped in late Summer/early Autumn and 1-on-1 classes can be at any point from May, whenever is most convenient for you.
Please note that the exact teas may be slightly changed if after we’ve tried one specific tea we’re not satisfied with the quality (it’s rare, but happens). Of course, if we substitute a cake, it will be of the same value of higher. This is the best type of pre-order: where the quality is checked one last time before we decide to accept it.

2026 Benchmark tea introduction
The 2026 benchmark tea series is built on:
- Sparing no expense: The very best tea we could source regardless of price. The result is tea with amazing price/quality ratio, that makes your heart sing.
- Sparing no effort: We tried hundreds of samples (just of 1st spring pick 100% pure ancient tree leaves!), tens of terroirs to come up with this best-of selection
- Not caring for names or market dynamics: sometimes we’ve found better tea just outside a famous garden (or over the border in Laos and actually found better tea than in Yiwu!), sometimes we’ve picked tea straight from one of the original imperial tribute gardens (it doesn’t get more sought after than this!).
In short we did whatever it takes to make extraordinary puerh happen.
Extraordinary = Puerh like it was meant to be all along, before most areas were overpicked leading it to be weak and without all the usual blending of young and ancient tree puerh, 1st and later spring picks, standard and yesheng varietals and good with lesser terroirs (all of these are standard in 99% of so called “gushu” puerh).
